Jiya is a freshman studying Biology as a premed at Barnard College of Columbia University.

At Horace Mann, Jiya found an interest and excitement in working with kids and teaching, serving as the president of the HM mentoring program for students of color (STEPS) and teaching piano at the volunteer program Summer on the Hill. She worked as a student research assistant at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she conducted independent research and taught young students about DNA through models and demonstrations on DNA extraction from fruit.

Jiya tutors in Biology (Biology 9, Molecular Genetics, Cells & Physiology), Chemistry (Chemistry 10 and Organic Chemistry), and English (English 9, English 10, English 11).
